Getting around

The Water park is located between the beach and the old town of Workum, one of the 11 Frisian cities. The historical centre has a lively atmosphere, if only because of the many terraces and cozy shops.

Enjoy hiking, paddle, building sand castles or enjoy a beautiful sunset: it's all possible on the beach of Workum. Also flying a kite and/or (kite) surfing here belong to the possibilities.
The Jopie Huisman museum is very famous: Jopie Huisman museum
For other attractions in and around Workum you can also check out the following websites: Workum and Van Harte Workum.

In the province of Friesland are numerous routes for both the bicycle and car, for example: the Aldfaers Erf route.

In addition to the water sports the Frisian hinterland offers many possibilities: golf, cycling, horse riding, museums or hiking.

The First Friesian Skating museum in Hindeloopen is highly recommended.
Are you interested in the defense of the 'Afsluitdijk' during World War II, then the Kazematten Museum Kornwerderzand may be something for you.
A beautiful port city to visit is: Harlingen.

Friesland is famous in the Makkum earthenware. A visit to Tichelaar Makkum earthenware factory is interesting.
For those who have never tasted the Sonnema's Berenburg, a ride to Bolsward is a must.

Very special is the Planetarium of Eise Eisinga in Franeker. On the ceiling of the living room of a beautiful canal house in Franeker is the oldest working planetarium in the world. This accurate moving model of the solar system was built between 1774 and 1781 by Eise Eisinga.
